Why is it important?

In Osteoarthritis, the body’s ability to perceive joint movement — known as proprioception — can become impaired.

When you move, your joints send messages to your brain about position and balance. If those signals aren’t clear, your muscles can’t respond effectively, increasing the risk of pain and instability.

That’s why the ARISE Orthoprehab Programme focuses on neuromuscular exercises to retrain these signals — helping you move with better balance, control, and confidence.

How can you help yourself?

By following this programme, you can take an active role in your recovery. Regular exercise helps you:

  • Reduce pain and the need for painkillers
  • Strengthen your joints and muscles
  • Improve fitness and confidence before surgery
  • Recover faster with fewer complications
  • Even delay or avoid surgery

With consistent effort, you’ll feel stronger, steadier, and more in control every day.
